Paint Scheme The lightning bolt scheme from the 1990's has been adapted to this unit with a larger bolt. The bottom of the nose is dark (CNW) green going back creating a large bolt over the cab with green along the top of the long hood. Yellow is on the bottom of the long hood and the top of the nose. The CNW herald is on the long hood and nose with two white/silver stripes going around the unit (except through the green).
Typical Route for Unit Right now it appears that the unit may run between Proviso, IL and Council Bluffs, IA.

11/29/2006 - After a minor switching accident in Proviso, IL in which the back end of UP 1995 received some damage, the unit is placed in the shops in Proviso, IL to receive repairs. (link)
11/18/2006 - UP 1995 is paired with UP 2001 (Olympic Unit) and UP 3300 (United Way Unit) and the units depart Proviso, IL on the MPRCB-18 headed for Council Bluffs, IA, most likely in captive service.
11/17/2006 - UP 1995 is released from the shops in Proviso, IL and is available for assignment.
11/16/2006 - UP 1995 is placed at the shops in Proviso, IL for a brief inspection.
10/31/2006 - UP 1995 heads for Council Bluffs, IA on the MPRCB, perhaps in captive service.
10/30/2006 - UP 1995 departs Proviso, IL on the MPRDM-30 bound for Des Moines, IA.
10/29/2006 - UP 1995 is released from the shops in Proviso, IL.
10/26/2006 - UP 1995 is placed in the shops in Proviso, IL.
10/23/2006 - UP 1995 arrives at its destination in Saint Paul, MN in the morning and departs for Proviso, IL in the afternoon.
10/22/2006 - UP 1995 departs from Des Moines, IA bound for Saint Paul, MN.
10/20/2006 - UP 1995 departs Valley Park, MN bound for Des Moines, IA.
10/19/2006 - UP 1995 arrives at Valley Park, MN.
10/16/2006 - UP 1995 leaves captive service and departs north out of the Chicago, IL area toward Valley Park, MN.
9/25/2006 - UP 1995 appears to be in captive service running between Council Bluffs, IA and Proviso, IL on the MCBPR/MPRCB.
9/22/2006 - UP 1995 is paired with the last two remaining unpatched CNW units (CNW 8646 and CNW 8701) in Proviso. The three departs as the sole power on the MPRCB with UP 1995 leading. (link)
9/13/2006 - UP 1995 departs Council Bluffs, IA on the MCBPR-13 bound for Proviso, IL, perhaps returning to captive service.
9/10/2006 - After spending a few days in Boone, IA for the Pufferbilly Days Celebration, UP 1995 departs Boone for Council Bluffs, IA..
9/5/2006 - UP 1995 departs Chicago, IL (Global 2) on the IG2LBR-05 on its way to Boone, IA. There, it will be removed from the train and put on public display on September 8 and 9 for the Pufferbilly Days Celebration.
9/4/2006 - UP 1995 departs Clinton, IA on the MCLPR-04 headed for Proviso, IL.
9/3/2006 - UP 1995 departs Proviso, IL on the MPRCL-03 headed for Clinton, IA. Train met the MCBPR-02 in Sterling, IL with sister Heritage Units UP 1988 (Katy) and UP 1982 (MoPac) for power. (link)
8/31/2006 - UP 1995 is added to the MCBPR-30 and departs Clinton, IA for Proviso, IL. It may be back in captive service between Council Bluffs, IA and Proviso, IL on the MCBPR/MPRCB.
8/30/2006 - UP 1995 placed on the MMTCL-30 departing out of Marshalltown, IA headed for Clinton, IA.
8/28/2006 - UP 1995 moves from Proviso, IL to Marshalltown, IA (train symbol unknown).
8/26/2006 - After receiving warranty work and verifying that UP 1995 is prepared for winter, the unit is returned to UP and heads for the Chicago area.
8/17/2006 - UP 1996 arrives at Metro-East Industries in East St Louis and is placed in the shops so warranty work can be performed.
8/16/2006 - UP 1995 leaves its home rails and it is interchanged at Val Junction, IL, headed for Metro-East Industries in East St Louis for "Warranty Work".
7/28/2006 - UP 1995 is placed on the point of a manifest along with CNW 8646 (one of two remaining unpatched CNW units) for its first trip north into Wisconsin and Minnesota. (link)
7/27/2006 - UP 1995 continues to run in captive service between Proviso, IL and Council Bluffs, IA on the MPRCB/MCBPR.
7/18/2006 - UP 1995 departs Council Bluffs, IA on the MCBPR-18 headed back for Proviso, IL. Due to track maintenance, the train arrived and departed from Council Bluffs on tracker other than CNW tracks. However, the majority of the trip between the cities was on former CNW trackage.
7/16/2006 - UP 1995 makes its first run west on the MPRCB-16 (Proviso, IL to Council Bluffs, IA) with the two remaining unpatched CNW units (CNW 8646 and CNW 8701). (link)
7/15/2006 - UP 1995 is unveiled at Proviso Yard prior to the official ceremony. The units tarp was removed at 6am due to the facilities at which the event was held (disallowing a crane from assisting in the removal). The unit is then moved to the Ogilvie Transportation Center for the ceremony. (link)
6/26/2006 - UP 8522 is delivered to the Wisconsin Southern for painting in Horicon, WI.
6/25/2006 - UP 8522 is spotted by Ron Wischer in Butler, WI at the diesel ramp. UP 8522 should be sent to Horicon (on the WSOR) soon for repainting as the CNW Heritage Unit, UP 1995. (link)
6/23/2006 - It is announced that the CNW unit will be unveiled at the Ogilvie Transportation Center near Chicago Union Station on July 15, 2006.
5/1/2006 - It is believed that the CNW unit will be unveiled in Chicago, IL sometime in mid-July.
7/31/2005 - In a press release, Union Pacific announces that they will include a CNW unit in their Heritage Series.
