With the departure of Daylight Savings Time comes winter lighting - or lack there of. Its about 4:15pm as this eastbound coal load makes its way through the curves at Blue Mountain. Three mid-train swing helpers will be cut out at Denver before the train continues east on the KP.

Thanks Jim! You are correct too...off the top of my head, the loops at Crater and (if setup right), Gilluly are the only other two places on the Grande that I can think of where a similar shot is possible.

Tis is probably one of the few places in the west where a train can be seen over itself like the helpers here... One of my favorite places to shoot, too. Nice shot!
