A nice surprise for a May afternoon! A rail train came north on the Front Range Sub to drop off some welded rail along the tracks near milepost 17. A blue and yellow GP30 was on the point of the northbound, seen here coming through Broomfield on the main track.

That particular GP30 (which is technically now a GP30u after a Santa Fe rebuild in January of 1983) was built in March of 1963 (45 years ago!) as ATSF 1255. Five more years and it'll hit the half-century mark.
