Just south of MP 33, we find UP 1989 as the sole power (on the point, anyway) on the North Platte to North Yard manifest. Perhaps, in an alternate universe, there are hundreds of units painted like this running around on the rails...

And in that alternate universe, Anschutz could have bought Santa Fe instead of Southern Pacific. The ultimate reversal of the Treaty of Boston. The possibilities boggle the mind! An alternate history could really keep a writer busy. Digital photography and graphics could build a an empire with thousands of these locos.
