The loaded Valmont coal train sits (tied down) in the siding at Broomfield. The train has cut the grade crossing at Nickel Street, a process that soon will not be necessary once the siding of Broomfield shifts to the north side of Nickel Street. The Valmont train is loaded at Energy Mine (on the Craig Branch). UP brings the train to Denver and then turns it over to BNSF. Often times, the train will run to Valmont with the UP power still on the train! In fact, this is the exact same train that I shot a few days earlier with an unpatched Espee leader. Alas, the Espee unit was removed in Denver.
