This is, by far, the best shot of a Tier 4 unit that I've been able to capture to date. This is a slight variation on the standard ET44ACs that GE is now producing. This is an ET44C4 which, like the ES44C4, has a "dummy" center axle on both trucks. So the unit has an A1A-A1A truck configuration. The center axle on each truck can be slightly raised, putting more weight on the drive axles. A computer controls this action depending on grade, speed, traction, etc.
