Generally speaking, UP's daily North Yard, CO to Roper, UT manifest is called at 3:30am. Meaning the crew for the train literally receives a phone call informing them of their train. The crew has 2 hours to get to North Yard and start working on the train. The process from call time to departure is typically 3-4 hours. The result is usually an early morning departure, often an hour or so ahead of Amtrak. Such is the case this morning as an SD70ACe-led manifest heads west of Leyden on a clear signal about 15 minutes ahead of sunrise.

Never saw the MDR being used now on Moffat tunnel subdivision. Early bird catches the sunrise - well done!
