Cheyenne Frontier Days
News Story Posted By Kevin (Click Name To Email)
Sunday, July 24, 2005 - Union Pacific ran the Cheyenne Frontier Days Steam Train this past weekend between Denver and Cheyenne. UP 844 (4-8-4) led the train, followed by UP 3985 (4-6-6-4). Unfortunately, UP 3985 broke down near Ft Lupton and was set up. The train picked up three SD40-2s at La Salle for the trip into Cheyenne. For the trip back to Denver, the SD40-2s had been replaced by none other than UP 6936, the last remaining (active) DDA40X! See pictures from the trip by clicking this link.
