Ski Train to Run No More! News Story Posted By Kevin (Click Name To Email)

It is with great regret that I have to let everyone know that the Ski Train, which has run in one form or another since 1940, has been sold to a subsidiary of the Canadian National - the Algoma Central Railway.
The Summer season has officially been canceled. Sounds like the equipment will probably be headed north sometime in the not-to-distant future. I will try my best to get shots of the train on its way out of town.
While I'm very sorry to see the train go, I'm even more unhappy about the sale of the Utah and Kansas (assuming they are apart of the deal - I don't know for certain). The Kansas, as you may or may not know, was named the Wilson McCarthy and was a business car on the Rio Grande for decades. The Utah was also used as a business car, at least in the 1980's.
Another piece of Rio Grande history has become just another memory.
