The Crossover Of
Ironton
West to Riverton |
The Siding Gallery, by design, does not show any trains (unless it is unavoidable) in pictures of the sidings. This is so you can see the layout of the land and get your own ideas on how to take pictures of trains. However, if you'd like to see pictures taken from various spots at this siding, then you can Search the Photo Gallery for pictures here on ColoradoRailfan.com!
The Crossover of Ironton is located at milepost 698.5 on the Provo Subdivision.Ironton is as far west as the siding gallery currently goes!! The crossover is just twomiles east of Provo (including the Provo yard). Very close to milepost 700. Unlike Springville,Ironton is right in the middle of a heavily industrialized area.

There is a signal tower in place for the eastbound signals at Ironton. However, thetower is no longer in service. Following the completion of a road bridge over the tracks justwest of the signals, the new signals (currently in server) were constructed and the signalson the tower were turned to the side, no longer in use.

Here is the control box for Ironton as well as the second crossover, running from trackone to track two (when heading westbound). Like Springville, a road runs parallel to the trackshere, but the zoning is much more industrial in the area!

Finally, we close out the west end of the siding gallery (for the time being) with thispictures of the westbound signals at Ironton...
