Five miles east of here, at Walcott, the train crossed over from Main 1 to Main 2. There also happens to be a 10 MPH slow order across the bridge, so the train is move slow through the scene. This view of the 4-8-8-4 leading a special west of Hanna helps show its overall size. Including the tender, the unit is 132 feet long. The Big Boy and tender combine weight right around 1.2 million pounds (600 tons). The tender holds close to 25,000 gallons of water and consumes as much as 12,000 gallons of water per hour.
