One company that UP ships a lot of container traffic for is Ocean Network Express, or ONE. Their pink containers certainly stand out, and it is interesting just seeing the color pink on a train! Such is the case with this westbound two mile long double stack train between Hermosa Tunnel and Tie Siding.

UP 7394 is the sole mid-train swing helper on this two mile long double stack train. As the train is coming up and over the grade at Hermosa, the train is starting to pick up some speed.

It is 9:50am and UP 7202 and UP 5497 are two of three units on this two mile long westbound double stack train at Hermosa. There is a mid-train swing helper, buried about a mile back in the train.

An AC4400CW and an ES44AC lead a stack train that is close to two miles long through the 1,800 foot long Hermosa Tunnel on Main 1. The train is about 20 minutes ahead of UP 4014, the Big Boy, leading a westbound special.

A very long westbound stack train is current in Hermosa Tunnel on Main 1. The headlight of the lead unit is lighting the way as the train is about to emerge from the west portal. Note that you can see the stacks through the Main 2 tunnel.

On the approach to Hermosa (the tunnels), a trio of EMDs (to SD9043MACs and an SD70M) lead up this manifest running from Fresno, CA to North Platte, NE. The manifest is a high priority as it has perishable goods on it.

A fairly picturesque view of the mountains to the west of Hermosa on UP's Laramie Subdivision. This special is running on Main 2, but will move over to Main 3 upon reaching the opposite end of the Hermosa crossover.

The very first time I've actually shot at the tunnel of Hermosa. Seems fitting that it would be of UP's famous 4-8-4 steam locomotive. This special is heading for points in California.

Thought that sounded strange coming through the tunnel! UP 844 emerges from the west portal of Hermosa on its way west. It is leading a UP passenger special going on a month long tour. The train will, among other things, commemorate the 140th anniversary of the completing of the transcontinental railroad.
