Prior to the installation of this 7,700 foot siding, it was about 60 miles from Broomfield (9,000 feet) to the next siding longer than 4,000 feet. That siding is North Yard located in Fort Collins. On this Friday afternoon, BNSF's daily Denver to Laurel manifest departs north from the main after meeting the Longmont Turn, approaching the south switch on the siding.
