An eastbound manifest comes down Main 2 on the approach to Rawlins, WY. The train will stop and receive a new crew before continuing east toward Cheyenne. The train, like so many on the Overland Route, is headed for Bailey Yard in North Platte, NE.

There is an overpass on the eastern side of Sinclair, WY that is a fun place to hang out and watch westbounds. Case-in-point is this westbound Z-train clipping along on Main 1, running away from the storm passing through in the distance. Note that you can clear see three sets of intermediate signals from this location.

An "grain shuttle" heads west near the unincorporated community of Wolcott, a little over 20 miles east of Rawlins. The is an empty grain shuttle, with the cars being moved to California.

A few miles west of Rock River, WY, this westbound intermodal train is making good time on its journey toward Seattle, WA (coming from Chicago, IL). This was the last bit of direct sunlight that we saw for the remainder of the day.

There is a nice cut located above the highway (US-287) a few miles east of Rock River, WY. Here, an empty grain train approaches the cut on Main 2 heading east.
