The local dropped of a few cars for the Sidney and Lowe shortline at the north end of the siding, picked up one car, and is now headed back toward Sterling. There is a clearly-defined wall of snow falling and the train is in the middle of it! The train was moving faster than the storm and the train would reach us before the snow. This is looking northeast down UP's Julesburg Subdivision. This line connects in with the Overland route in Juleburg. Prior to being abandoned in the 1990's, this line continued southwest from Union, CO to Greeley, CO. It offered a more direct route from the midwest (North Platte, NE, etc) to Denver.
