Under partly cloudy skies, Amtrak 6 is moving at track speed (nearly 80 MPH) as it moves through the cut east of the ghost town of Thompson, UT.

Well of course I was right, but initially, I didn't fully undestand your captioning system which is excellent by the way. Still I do know the desert since I was a "Desert Rat" pm the Rio Grande. I also spent some time in the desert out of the Utah Division Engineer's office. I believe it is the March, 1967 issue of Trains that has my sot of the Potash Turn just south of Brendel.

I say this is No. 6 east of Thompson as shot just off old US 6. I have this shot from 1986. I also have a freight train here in July, 1966.
