Earlier in the day, this coal train was taken out of North Yard up to Leyden and tied down. Not too common to find a westbound tied down at Leyden, but track work up the hill prevented the train from going any further west. Now, right around sunset, a new crew has just been dropped off to take the train west. The train is the Colorado Springs Department of Utilities train, which used to have the cars lettered "CSDU".

I sat at Blue Mountain Road until the sun went away waiting for something to move. The track crews gave the track back to DS82 and ithought something was coming east but didn't have any traffic at all... found this guy sitting at Leyden and thought he might get a light to go west but that didn't happen, either. I just got a new camera body (Pentax K10D) and was hoping to try it out... Didn't work! Maybe next time... Nice shots, Kevin!
