Seeing how these old signals are quickly on their way out, I wanted to make sure I got a shot of them before they inevitably disappear. In the pre-UP era, that lower target on the signal on the right would display a lunar aspect, indicating a grade (restricting) signal. Today, the yellow G-Plate has been added (indicating a grade signal), and the lower target displays yellow, for a yellow-over-yellow aspect, if a train is going in the hole at Leyden (Approach Diverging).

Nice shot, Kevin. This location at mile 9.7 is at Kipling, just behind my house. You should have stopped in for a visit, ha! Let's hope we get some real snow this season, say two to three feet. That'll change the appearance of this crossing. If I get the time, I'll send you a shot from a previous storm.
