On a typically hazy Colorado summer morning, the westbound California Zephyr picks up a little bit of speed as it heads west towards Leyden. Road work along West 72nd Avenue required Amtrak to slow a bit through the crossing.

As far as I know, this train is being serviced in Denver and returned to Emeryville CA instead of continuing on to Chicago IL because of midwest flooding in IA. Seems to be holding up so far.
