The westbound California Zephyr has been running with a very good on-time performance out of Denver through most of June and into July. Of course, that is due to the fact that the Zephyr has not been running between Chicago and Denver as a result of the flooding in the mid-west! Here, the Zephyr is approaching the east switch of Leyden on a clear signal.

I was on the California Zephyr the day before and we *still* managed to leave 20 minutes late due to delays from transiting BNSFs connection with NWT Union Station rails. I was grateful we wouldn't be waiting at the station for the train from Chicago. That would have made it *much* later. I'm not saying anything about the CZ using BNSF tracks from Chicago to Denver. Nothing at all. Nope.
