No trains, unfortunately, in this picture...this is a look from NA Junction down the former MoPac line east to Kansas. Had things worked out differently with Tennessee Pass, this line might seen coal trains on a daily basis heading east out of Colorado. Instead, UP decided to mothball this route and use the KP (and the Moffat) for its trains instead.

good to see sombody still takes pictures of abandoned rail lines. i missed last day of rail operations on tennessee pass line by one week. tennessee pass line & homestake pass in montana are my favorite places for pics of abandoned lines. ANY news on t pass would be greatly appreciated! who knows, maybe traffic levels in the pacific northwest & central corridor will go through the roof, & MRL & UP will reopen both. stranger things have happened.
