Okay everybody, why is it important to not race the train to the grade crossing? About two weeks earlier, a tanker truck loaded with Ethanol attempted to beat this SD40-2 to a grade crossing. The result was a huge fireball and a lot of heat! Amazingly, nobody was hurt in the incident. The SD40-2 was doing local switching. It had no cars at the time and was running long hood forward, which is no doubt what saved the crew.
