If I had taken this shot one year earlier, you would have seen the Ski Train cars in the shot! These are the tracks at Burnham at which the Ski Train was stored during the off season. Instead, the tracks are now filled with former Grande Luxe Express cars. The cars were purchased by Phil Anschutz and are currently being repaired and upgraded.

Skip, it turns out that Anschutz was toying with the idea of running a new luxury train, perhaps in the Grand Canyon area. However, with the continued downturn in the economy, he apparently changed his mind. The cars above were ultimately sold by Anschutz and are now gone. I do not know where they ended up.

Good News if, it could be the Ski Train version 2.0
Are there any rumors out there on the future use of it?
Heard RTD needs trains for their imaginary tracks LOL!
Thanks for the pic and info
