While major work such as removing prime movers, changing alternators and traction motors is done on the west side of the shop, the "minor" work (electrical, etc) is done on the east side of the shop. Burnham today is actually a General Electric shop with a mix of GE and UP employees, so the vast majority of the units serviced are GE. However, an EMD unit will wonder in for maintenance from time to time. On this day, we only spotted a single SD9043MAC, UP 8217, seen in the distance here in this shot.
