Just west of Leyden, a westbound light power move is on the roll. These moves are fairly common on the Moffat, typically running a couple times each week. Nine of the twelve units here will be dropped off in Glenwood Springs to be used as mid-train swing helpers on eastbound coal loads coming from the North Fork Branch. The remaining three units will continue on to Grand Junction.

@Geoff, a move like this would typically would have no more than three units actually online and loading.

@Tom, thanks for the comment!

How many engines are actually running in a move like this?

Nice shot Kevin,

Light, weather, subject, exposure, composition. You can hear 'em and feel 'em.
