Well, it is official! Pecos street is closed at the tracks (near Utah Junction) and a two-year-long Form B has been put in place on the tracks. A new overpass will be built here over the next 12-18 months, so traffic on Pecos will no longer need to worry about coal trains.

Time rolls along . . ., it seems like just yesterday, I would ride my bike from Arvada to watch the piggy packer load trailers for the 101, then the 195 would roll out with it's Grand Junction cut (and it's dead head caboose 15 to 20 cars from the rear). Never become "bored" with now, soon it will be lost to the winds of time and change!
