While the skies were crystal clear, the morning of one-eleven-eleven (1/11/11) was a very cold one! The day started off right around 0°F. In the siding at Leyden, the MNYRO is preparing to stop to check out an engine problem and let the westbound Zephyr around on the main.

Something strikes me about this photo. I think it's the lighting contrast and how the sides of the locomotive, the trucks, the radiator, and the fuel tank all have clean geometric lines. Considering the snow, this has a great balance!
