The sun wasn't at the best angle yet, so I settled for this artsy shot of a coal load descending through the S-Curve at the east switch of Toponas. This is one time when I wish I had a lens that could give me something between 135mm and 300mm!

I had expected to chase this train east as far as Winter Park on my journey back toward the Front Range. However, fate had other plans as the train struck some rocks near MP 147 west of Volcano. The crew was okay, but the train went on the ground and crews spent hours getting everything cleaned up.
