Railroad photograph

A look west out of the west end of Tennessee Pass toward the east portal of the tunnel. I found it interesting how many joints there seemed to be on the siding. There may be a little bit of a telephoto compression effect here, but not much. The joints seem to come every 15 or 20 feet long the entire siding.

I grew up in Tennessee pass so many memories of the playing near these tracks and the tunnel, right below this tunnel was a shed where the motor car was kept. I was born in 1956 and this is where we lived in Railroad housing we the last family living there and we left around 1967 moved to Malta where my father was transferred. My father Jack Priest worked for Denver Rio Grande for over 45 years. I believe he started his career around the Eagle Minturn area. I would love to hear from anyone who has any memories of my father at all and If any one has any questions about growing up Railroad and Tennessee Pass I will be more then happy to try to answer.
