Whether you like it or not, we are currently in the "New Energy Economy". A part of that new energy is wind power. And the way to move those components around is by rail! Here is a "windmill train" on it's way to Milford, UT from Hutchinson, KS. This train contains the tops of the windmills. The train is along the stretch of track between Havana Street and Ulster Street near the Stapleton Development.

Thanks Pat! I definitely did not know the exact route the train took getting to the KP. The back story is appreciated.

Nice to see the train that was running across the BNSF's Strong city sub when I sat down to work Thursday.... It came from Hutch up to Herington, then south on UP's Lost Springs sub to Lost Springs, where it then swapped ends and ran over BNSF to Abilena to access the Kansas Pacific.

I've seen these huge propellers for these things on the back of semi trucks rolling though town. There are many of these windmills in the southeast part of Colorado, twoards Springfield, there seem to be a never ending supply of them for miles and miles! They are enourmous!
