I'm always a sucker for a roster shot of an EMD unit! Even when said EMD unit is a (not-so-aesthetically pleasing) SD70ACe. Not to say that I think they are ugly; they have grown on me. But they still don't match up to a spartan cab...or even the wide cab on an SD70M. It is somewhat hard to believe that it has been nearly 10 years since these units were being "sent through the wringer" by EMD.

Eh, so it's got a little rust on the eaves and the doors don't match. It's got character. You're right on the SD70ACes not being as aesthetically pleasing, but remember that the spartan cabs were designed by an EMD engineer who wanted to make a freight unit so homely that no rail exec would want it at the front of a passenger train. I think, in a way, the brutish quality of the ACe is an extension of that. 10 years ago! Man does time fly!
