Has there ever been (or will there ever be) an engine as amazing as the SD40-2? With very few exceptions, every railroad in the United States, Canada, and Mexico owned at least a few SD40-2s. And now, 40 years later, railroads are still rebuilding them and keeping them on the roster. Granted they are used for switching and local work more often than in mainline service now, but it still cool to see them on the rail. How much longer will that last?
