While the equipment may have been different, it was pretty cool having the Ski Train back, if only for two days. It is hard to believe that as of this picture, it has been nearly six years since that final run of the original Ski Train. Here, Amtrak's special run of the Ski Train (which included seven Superliners) emerges from the east portal of the Moffat Tunnel.

Well said, Sean. Talk between Amtrak, Winter Park, and Union Pacific are proceeding, so I think there is a good chance we will get the train for an entire season next year. At least one season anyone.

kevin its so good to see that winterpark is wanting the skitrain again i veiwed it up at blue mountain crossing in the morning. when i saw the train come past the crossing my heart melted and when it started up to tunnel # 1 i looked back on all the trips on the w p ski train i was on we need to help keep the tradition going your pictures are the best indeed sean healy ski train superfan
