Changing out a traction motor is a fairly common type of maintenance that you are likely to see around busy rail yards. The traction motor is well-bolted to the axle, so it is far easier to simply change out the entire axle rather than just the traction motor alone. Here, a crew aligns this new axle and traction motor combination with the rail.
