Down to its last year of life, DRGW 3002 sits in North Yard in Denver, CO while minors repairs are implemented. This (along with DRGW 3003) was the longest-lasting GP30 on the roster, remaining on UP's active roster until retirement on July 30, 1999. DRGW 3002 was also one of only four Rio Grande GP30's to receive the large letter paint scheme (along with 3001, 3014, and 3027).
