The Front Range does not see much intermodal traffic, compared to many other parts of the country. However, one intermodal train you can find 5-6 days a week is BNSF's Denver to Chicago Z-Train (and its counterpart). It is the highest priority train in or out of Denver. The train departs Denver in the mornings, typically between 6:30am and 8:00am. The Chicago to Denver generally arrives Denver between 5:00pm and 7:30pm. Here, just east of Hudson, today's Z-Train has a trio of GEs on the point making track speed over Box Elder Creek.
