As we get closer to the Zephyr returning to daily service on May 24, it is encouraging to see the train back up at eight Superliners! Three sleepers and three coaches as well as the diner and lounge cars on in the consist today. After the reduction to thrice weekly last October, the baggage cars disappeared from long distance trains. This was most likely due to a reduction in passengers and, thus, a reduction in bags. Will the baggage cars return with daily service? That remains to be seen.
