In the early morning light, a disastrous scene is revealed on the Colorado plains about 40 miles east of Denver. Last night, a semi truck (reportedly hauling milk) cross the grade crossing in from of the eastbound Zephyr. The train struck the truck, derailing both engines and several cars. All the cars remained upright. The engines did not. This morning, crews are working to clean up the derailment.

Any updates since then? I heard somewhere the locos are still sitting on the wye track, but I have no idea if that’s true.
