An overview of UP's Bailey Yard in North Platte, NE. This is the largest rail classification yard in the world! The yard encompasses 2,850 acres, has two separate hump yards, totaling 114 yard tracks. The yard handles roughly 14,000 rail cars daily. It is also the location of one of the largest engine facilities, and also has a car repair facility that replaces 10,000 pairs of wheels annually.
