If, as a railfan, you have never taken the time to chase a short line railroad, it is a lot of fun. One challenge certainly can be just finding a train. Short lines often have a lot of track and only one or two trains operating on any given day. However, once you find one, it is usually pretty easy to get ahead of it as speeds are lower and stops for switching are frequent. Here, a Nebraska, Kansas, and Colorado train heads west out of Grant, NE.
