I decided to stay out the sky and come down the ground for a low-level shot of the pair of P42DCs that are the current power on the Winter Park Express. Interestingly, for the first time in its history, the power for the Winter Park Express has been nothing but "standard" Phase 5 P42s all season. Every year prior to this, since Amtrak started the service, the train has had a less-common unit, such as a Phase 7 P42 or a heritage unit. Perhaps a sign that the train is indeed becoming a regular staple in Amtrak's seasonale schedule.
