Just west of the Yard Limit at Guernsey, a westbound coal empty is crossing the North Platte River on an 845-foot-long bridge. This bridge was built by the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy (CB&Q) in 1914 and 1915 as part of the nine-mile Guernsey to Wendover Cutoff project. The water level in the North Platte is low and very calm right now.
