One of my favorite shots of the day was along the banks for the North Platte River on the west edge of Guernsey, WY. You could not ask for a better October morning as a single ES44AC (in Heritage 2 paint) brings up the rear of a westbound coal empty. The Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy reached Guernsey, WY in 1900. 14 years later, the CB&Q built the nine-mile extension from Guernsey to Wendover, meeting with the Colorado and Southern mainline. By this point, the C&S was under the control of the CB&Q.
