If you've heard the name "Laramie" before, there is a good change you think of Wyoming. The City of Laramie, with a population of 33,000 people, is the fourth-largest city in Wyoming. There is also a Laramie County in Wyoming. However, you may not be familiar with the "other" Laramie. Or, more specifically, Fort Laramie. This is a very small town east of Guernsey with a population of only 206 residents. While UP passes through Laramie, BNSF passes through Fort Laramie (on the Valley Sub). The town is named after a United States Army fort. The Army abandoned the post in 1890. The town came later, being incorporated in 1925. Additionally, not the black on white numbers on the number board of BNSF 9372. Not sure why, but the first 30 SD70ACes delivered to BNSF (of which BNSF 9372 was one of them) were delivered with black numbers on a white number board.
