Here in South Morrill, I found a former Amtrak, former F40PH. SPTX 90208 was delivered to Amtrak in March 1976 as AMTK 208. Once P42DCs replaced the F40PH fleet, some F40PHs had their prime movers removed, and their long hoods were used as baggage cars. The controls were kept in the cab, and they could be used as a controller in a push-pull operation. They earned the nickname "cabbage cars", stemming from "cab-baggage cars". They were officially classified by Amtrak as NPCUs or Non-Powered Control Units. The SD70MAC was delivered to Burlington Northern in 1994 and subsequently moved to BNSF's roster. The currently reporting marks (BUGX) is associated with Dieselmotive Company.
