Railroad photograph

Arguably the most famous perspective photographed on the Joint Line! BNSF 2026 leads a Q-Train that is bound for Los Angeles as it passes through Palmer Lake, over the top of the hill. BNSF's rail line in Northern California (the Gateway Subdivision) cannot accommodate double stacks. Similar to the Moffat, it has tunnels whose clearance is not sufficient for the stack train. So, BNSF has to route them the long way. East from Oregon to Montana and south through Colorado and Texas to the Transcon. Then back west to LA.
