Saturday, August 25, 2007 - On August 25, 2007, a (public) passenger train will run south on the Joint Line from Denver to Pueblo and back for the first time in almost exactly 10 years! The last train to do it actually turned right at Pueblo and headed west over Tennessee Pass. That train was led by UP 844 - this one will be too!
This time it is not (unfortunately) for Tennessee Pass, but rather the Colorado State Fair. UP will run a passenger special to Pueblo carrying passengers that will get to enjoy the afternoon at the fair itself before returning back to Denver.
If you are planning on heading out, please remember to be careful and to be courteous to your fellow railfans! Expect packed roads and lots of photo lines.
Here is a preview of things to come tomorrow on the day of the run.
Enjoy!
