Friday, December 14, 2007 - The last remaining Rio Grande Tunnel Motor, DRGW 5371, came to Denver (from Helper) on November 27/28 to head for Burnham, apparently for some repairs.
Well, the T-2 was *finally* released this morning after a lengthy 17 day
stay at the Burnham Shops downtown. Sounds like it is headed back toward North Yard, probably by this mornings hostlers. Assuming everything is okay
with it, It'll be interesting to see what happens next? I'd be willing to bet we're looking at a westbound run back to Helper on tomorrow's MNYPV....
Also, on a side note, the third of the three ex-Grande GP60s (UP 1902)
has been in town here in Denver for the last few days. Unfortunately, it was to good to last! The unit is on the lineup for today's MNYNP, scheduled out of North Yard this afternoon. If you're along the Greeley Sub, you might try to grab a shot. Unfortunately, the unit is a full repaint and not just a patch job.
