Friday, June 13, 2008 - BNSF clear the tracks - or the area where the tracks used to be - overnight on Tuesday. They also got panel track laid, new ballast down, and the track regulated and tamped.
The first trains were called (from Cheyenne south and Denver north) around 3:00pm on Tuesday. BNSF put a 10 MPH slow order through the derailment site.
There has been a fair amount of traffic through the site since the line reopened. The Front Range seems to be back up to its normal levels. BNSF took the 8105 (the SD60M) back to Denver on Tuesday. BNSF 143 and BNSF 9801 were uprighted and placed back on the tracks. The units were placed on the stub track behind American Furniture Warehouse and as of tonight, that is where they still sit.
Yesterday afternoon and this morning, I went by and got some shots of the units on either side. Considering the severity of the wreck, they look remarkably good. Later this evening, I went back and got a shot of a southbound HLAUDEN coming through the site.
Here are all the shots from the post-derailment.
