Friday, June 20, 2008 - The Ski Train kicked off the 2008 Summer Season on Wednesday with a special chartered trip from Union Station up to Winter Park. The train had all three F40PH's, four of the 14 typical Ski Train cars, plus the three private cars.
The train was wyed at Tabernash Wednesday evening and the train then tied down on the siding at Fraser, where it stayed Wednesday night. Yesterday, the train left Fraser between 1:00pm and 2:00pm for the trip back to town.
I setup for a shot in Arvada (east of Leyden) as the train highballed on through to get back to Union Station. Not far behind the Ski Train was the eastbound Rocky Local heading back into town with a trio of patched (fly letter) Espee GP40M-2s. Here's the link:

Also, just as a reminder, the Ski Train start regular summer operations tomorrow, departing for Winter Park at 9:00am. The train runs each Saturday through August 23rd.
